Wouldn’t it be great to have a little extra edge when turning into a hard corner? Well if you have ATS AFX tall spindles on your ’64-72 Chevelle now you can! Our Ackermann kit lengthens the steering linkage assembly and increases turn-in steering angle on your inside tire, see illustration below. Although it doesn’t affect straight line driving it can help pull you through the corners faster, increasing corner speeds and reducing your lap times. Kit # 30522 is based on a specially machined ATS AFX spindle billet steering arm that takes the place of the standard ATS billet steering arm, and pushes the tie rod end pick up point outward to increase Ackermann. It also includes a special long length billet adjuster sleeve and our spherical bearing type tie rod end and bump steer correcting kit. If you already have AFX spindles on your car it’s an easy swap to convert to the new arm, or if you’re buying spindles now and you’re wanting the extra Ackermann advantage, be sure to order these special arms along with your Spindle kit.
